Rugby 101: Basics

Learn more about the sport of rugby. 

Rugby Sevens (with seven players per team) will make its first appearance at the Olympic Games in 2016. Rugby Union (with 15 players per team) made its Olympic debut in 1900, but the sport has not been played at the Olympics since 1924. 

The objective of Rugby Sevens is to score as many points as possible by carrying, passing, kicking and grounding the ball.
